London as today

According to some media reports, London is the leading financial city of the world now, surpassing America's NewYork. This city of more than seven million population is also one of the most diversed metropolises, resembling the miniature of the whole world. Post-colonial metamorphoses of the world order means the epicenter of the political and strategic power lies across the Atlantic, but London feels the tremor of every major events happening around the world. Perhaps for the glorious past that London owns as being the heart of modern democracy and social development, it seems to have been blessed or cursed to face the positive and negative consequences of the political events unfolding at home and abroad.

I have been living in this vibrant city for the past few years as an International student. And in this article, I will be sharing my perspectives on: London as an administrative and financial capital, London as a modern and diversed city, the changing demography of London and its consequences, how London is coping with these changes, what I think about Londoners and the immigrants, community relationship and social and security issues including terrorism.

(to be contd.)
